On the morning of the 23rd at 4 a.m., Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, inspected the site where the final cement storage silo near Gwangwoon University Station was being dismantled.
The Gwangwoon University Station area development project is a construction project that involves the complex development of commercial facilities, luxury residential facilities, and public facilities on a logistics site of 156,492㎡ around the station.
By early next year, it is expected that residents around Gwangwoon University Station will see the logistics site completely cleared of the long-standing nuisance silos and branch warehouses.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, said, “The complete dismantling of the silos, which was a long-cherished project for the residents of Wolgye-dong, is a signal marking the full-scale promotion of the Gwangwoon University Station area development project,” adding, “We will do our best to proceed with the project without any setbacks so that Gwangwoon University Station and the Wolgye-dong area can rise as a new center in the northeastern part of Seoul.”
