Operation of the 'Digital Platform Government Innovation Course'

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] The Presidential Commission on the Digital Platform Government announced on the 22nd that it will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 23rd at Seoul National University with the Ministry of Personnel Management and the Graduate School of Public Administration at Seoul National University to jointly operate the 'Digital Platform Government Innovation Education Program.'

The areas of cooperation include joint operation of educational programs such as the Digital Platform Government Innovation course, joint development and utilization of educational programs and content, promotion of educational projects and mutual cooperation support, and joint use and linkage (network) of knowledge and information resources.

To realize the Digital Platform Government and develop digital innovation capabilities in the public sector, each institution will establish a cooperative framework and jointly plan and operate the 'Digital Platform Government Innovation Education Program' starting January next year. This program is expected to include participation from mid-level public officials of central government ministries, constitutional institutions, local governments, and public institutions.

The education will be divided into four areas: Digital Platform Government Innovation, digital capabilities, science and technology policy innovation, and public leadership capabilities. In particular, this education program is structured into a three-stage learning system consisting of theoretical learning to establish and understand the concept of the Digital Platform Government, policy development and design, and field practice.

Ko Jin, Chairman of the Digital Platform Government Commission, said, "For the Digital Platform Government to succeed, it is crucial that public officials have an accurate understanding of and a strong will to realize the Digital Platform Government," adding, "We will actively participate and assist in advising on the direction and programs of education and recommending competent expert instructors."
