[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Pianist Lee Hyuk held his first charity concert in Korea and donated all the proceeds from the concert tickets to Chung-Ang University Hospital.
On the 21st, Chung-Ang University Hospital held a donation ceremony in the hospital's central conference room attended by Hong Chang-kwon, Director of Chung-Ang University Medical Center, Lee Han-jun, Director of Chung-Ang University Hospital, Ko Seok-beom, Executive Director of the Chung-Ang University Foundation, and pianist Lee Hyuk.
Lee Hyuk, who achieved the great honor of winning first place in the piano category at the prestigious Long-Thibaud International Competition in France last month, held the 'Donation Concert Op.1' on the 20th at the Chung-Ang University Seoul Campus Art Center Central Art Hall.
This concert was Lee Hyuk's first charity performance in Korea, expressing his gratitude to the Doosan Yeon-gang Foundation, which has supported him since 2012, and his desire to become a performer who practices sharing. The proceeds from the concert were donated to low-income pediatric and adolescent patients receiving treatment at Chung-Ang University Hospital.
Lee Hyuk said, "I have long hoped that the music I have studied hard would be of some help to the world, and yesterday's concert was the first day I realized that dream, making it a personally very honorable moment. I am deeply grateful for the help and love I have received so far, and I will continue to be a musician who contributes to society through music."
Hong Chang-kwon, Director of Chung-Ang University Medical Center, said, "Last month, I was very proud to hear the news that a Korean won the Long-Thibaud Competition for the first time in 21 years, and I was truly moved when that young performer contacted us to hold a charity concert and donate the proceeds to Chung-Ang University Hospital. The donation will be used carefully to support pediatric and adolescent patients facing financial difficulties, and I sincerely support pianist Lee Hyuk to continue his efforts and stand tall as a world-class pianist."
