[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters reporters Song Jong-gu and Kim Wook] Congressman Kim Young-sun is drawing attention by announcing a special measure and declaring a strengthened charter for infant care in collaboration with Changwon Special City and the Good World Legacy Movement Headquarters to escape the dishonor of having the lowest birth rate among OECD countries.

On the morning of the 21st, Congressman Kim held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Office along with Jo Myung-rae, the 2nd Deputy Mayor of Changwon Special City, and Park Min-ja, the director of the Good World Legacy Movement Headquarters, to reveal measures against low birth rates.

Congressman Kim stated, “We will actively support policies necessary to build a customized 24-hour complex childcare center for infants aged 0 to 3, including a ‘public postpartum care center’ within the industrial complex of Changwon City,” adding, “We will also establish the same center in the national industrial complex specializing in defense and nuclear industries being promoted by Changwon City so that no one has to worry about childbirth and infant care.”

Congressman Kim, Deputy Mayor Jo, and officials from the Good World Legacy Movement Headquarters announced the ‘Low Birth Rate Measures and Strengthened Infant Care Protection Charter’ consisting of 10 articles, including ▲the state and local governments ensuring safety, medical care, housing, and nutrition support for infants ▲guaranteeing freedom from restrictions, discrimination, and human rights violations in childbirth support and childcare ▲providing one-stop services from pregnancy to childbirth for women ▲preparing special policies and legislative administrative measures for families with twins and multiple children ▲and protecting infants from abuse, neglect, violence, and exploitation.
