[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Gu Daeseon] The Daegu Community Chest of Korea announced on the 21st that CEO Lee Seung-eun of Cafe Bombom donated 100 million won to help neighbors and joined as the 213th member of the Daegu Honor Society.
Cafe Bombom, which started as a small cafe located in a university district in Daegu in 2012, has succeeded with a strategy of differentiating itself by using specialty blended coffee beans, and currently has opened 480 stores nationwide from Seoul to Jeju.
CEO Lee Seung-eun signed an MOU with the Daegu Facilities Corporation to install separate recycling bins for takeout cups used and discarded by citizens using the cafe, taking the lead in solving environmental issues.
When Daegu faced a crisis due to COVID-19 in March to April 2020, CEO Lee supported the community by donating 200 drinks daily to screening clinics and local hospitals.
In 2021, to celebrate the opening of the 400th store, she continued to practice sharing by donating 4,000 cups of coffee to local medical staff fighting against COVID-19.
Also, in July 2020, to coexist with franchise stores struggling due to COVID-19, she was recognized for supporting over 100 million won by exempting royalties for two months, providing 10kg of coffee beans free of charge, and lowering the unit price of some supplied items, and received the Good Franchise certification from the Korea Fair Trade Mediation Agency.
CEO Lee said, “I am glad to participate in raising the temperature of sharing on the Love Temperature Tower,” and added, “I hope my sharing will help neighbors in need, and I ask many citizens to join together.”
