[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Jo] On the 20th, the government promoted two police officers with the rank of Chief Superintendent, Kim Sunho, Director of the Police Bureau at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and Jo Jiho, Director of the Public Safety Information Bureau at the National Police Agency, to the rank of Commissioner General.


The rank of Commissioner General is directly below the Commissioner General of the National Police Agency (the top police officer, with one position), and there are seven positions including the head of the National Investigation Headquarters, Deputy Commissioner General of the National Police Agency, and the chiefs of the Seoul, Busan, Southern Gyeonggi, and Incheon Police Agencies, as well as the President of the Korean National Police University.


Additionally, the government promoted and appointed Han Changhun, Director of the Traffic Guidance Division at the Seoul Police Agency, Kim Byungwoo, Police Administrator at the Seoul Police Agency, and Choi Hyunseok, Chief of the Investigation Division at the Daejeon Police Agency (all with the rank of Superintendent), to the rank of Chief Superintendent.
