[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Nowon-gu (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced that it will present performances to warm the hearts of residents during the upcoming year-end and New Year holidays through the Nowon Cultural Foundation.


First, on the 22nd at 7:30 PM, the '2022 Year-end Concert - Jeong Tae-chun and Park Eun-ok's "Our Songs"' will take the stage at the Nowon Arts Center Grand Theater.


Jeong Tae-chun and Park Eun-ok, masters of Korean popular music and folk musicians, have conveyed empathy and comfort to many people through their music, which contains hope in lyrical yet era-transcending lyrics.


At this performance, they will present their representative songs such as 'Reminiscence,' 'Poet's Village,' 'Departing Ship,' and 'From the West Sea,' along with other beloved masterpieces, offering residents a warm time of healing.


During the concert, a music documentary film titled 'Song of Arch, Jeong Tae-chun,' produced to commemorate Jeong Tae-chun's 40th debut anniversary, will be screened on the stage screen. This video, which captures his activities and musical life, is expected to deepen and enrich the emotional impact of the songs.


Additionally, on January 7 next year, the play 'Love Letter' starring actors Bae Jong-ok and Jang Hyun-sung will await the residents.


The play 'Love Letter' has been recognized for its artistic value, winning prestigious international awards such as the Drama Desk Award and the Lucille Lortel Award, and is a steady seller in the theater world, performed in 30 languages worldwide. The 2023 national tour will begin with the Nowon Cultural Foundation.


Beloved actors Bae Jong-ok and Jang Hyun-sung play the main characters Melissa and Andy. The story portrays the immature and mature, happiness and unhappiness, and various meanings of life realized through exchanging letters over 50 years from childhood to the final moments, delivered through profound acting.


The 2022 Year-end Concert is sold out due to high interest, while tickets for the play 'Love Letter' are currently available. Performance and reservation information can be found on the Nowon Cultural Foundation website.


The Nowon Cultural Foundation has planned over 80 performances and cultural events this year to provide rest in residents' daily lives.


Events such as the 'Nowon Street Arts Festival,' where top domestic street artists perform, the humanities book concert series 'Unnoticed Private Things' combining humanities and music performances, the resident-participatory open festival 'Mask Festival,' and local atmosphere-reflecting 'Danghyeoncheon Water Music Concert' and 'Gaksimjae Old House Music Concert' have offered residents opportunities to experience diverse genres of culture and arts.


Next year, the Nowon Cultural Foundation plans to activate lifestyle culture projects and actively develop resident-centered cultural and artistic service projects that directly visit residents, providing various cultural experience opportunities to create a cultural city where residents are the protagonists.


Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, "We prepared this hoping residents will end the year well by enjoying good cultural performances," adding, "We will continue to actively plan high-quality performances and events to enhance residents' cultural sensitivity."

A passionate and splendid tango music and dance extravaganza that will melt the biting winter cold is set to unfold in Jungnang-gu.


Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) announced that the 'Tango Carnival' performance, hosted by the Jungnang Cultural Foundation, will be held at the Jungnang-gu Office Auditorium on the 22nd at 7:30 PM.


'Tango Carnival' is designed as a performance that everyone?couples, families, and friends?can enjoy together during the Christmas and year-end season.


This performance will feature masterpieces such as Astor Piazzolla's 'Libertango,' 'Oblivion,' and 'Tango of the Streets,' as well as Carlos Gardel's 'Por Una Cabeza,' widely known from the film 'Scent of a Woman.' A 'Christmas Medley' will also be prepared to enhance the festive atmosphere.


The performers have also attracted audience expectations. Along with Go Sang-ji, a representative bandoneon player known as the flower of tango, top domestic musicians including guitarist Kim Jin-taek, pianist Song Young-min, cellist Jang Woo-ri, bassist Lee Si-hyun, and clarinetist Jang Young-gwang will welcome the audience.


Moreover, special stages by tango masters Kim Dong-woo and Jung Seung-hee are expected to enrich the performance further.


Additionally, various enjoyable events, including surprise events for the audience on the day of the performance, will be held.


Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, "We hope the passionate stage presented at this Tango Carnival will melt the cold winter and allow residents to have a warm and abundant year-end."

Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Lee Ki-jae) announced that to help families wrap up the year together at nearby parks for Christmas, it will operate the 'Christmas Special Park Cultural Program' from the 20th to the 23rd at Pari Park, Yangcheon Park, and Neomeundeul Park.


Pari Park, 'A Day Given as a Gift'


At Salon de Pari and the Book Rest Area in Pari Park, various cultural programs under the theme 'A Day Given as a Gift' will be held from the 20th to the 22nd. Exotic craft programs such as ▲Christmas decorations made with French embroidery ▲fresh flower table decorations ▲wooden incense holder making, which brighten the year-end home atmosphere, and screenings of four winter-themed films will offer beautiful memories.


Neomeundeul Park, 'Merry Christmas Park'


At Neomeundeul Park, which gives a cozy forest lodge feeling with its sloped roof and has become a beloved community space, a special Christmas corner will be set up using the Book Rest Area. From the 20th to the 22nd, experiential programs such as Christmas wreath making and wood engraving will be held. Especially on the last day, the 22nd, a special cultural performance and 'Vin Chaud making,' a European-style cold prevention tea made by boiling wine with fruit, are scheduled, making it highly anticipated.


Yangcheon Park, 'Making Christmas Memories'


At Yangcheon Park, a photo zone has been installed inside the Book Rest Area, and since the 13th, an event printing photos taken there has been ongoing. On the 23rd, the beloved film 'Frozen 2' will be screened as part of the 'Book Rest Area Film Festival.' Anyone visiting the Book Rest Area can watch it for free for two hours starting at 4 PM on the 23rd.
