A was summarily indicted on charges of driving under the influence and hitting a vehicle waiting at a traffic signal on a road in Seokgok-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju, around 12:40 p.m. on October 7.

At the time, A’s blood alcohol concentration was found to be at the license cancellation level. It was reported that the officer stated to the police that he had drunk alcohol the day before, not on the day of the accident.

A has been demoted (from Lieutenant to Sergeant) and suspended for three months by the disciplinary committee.
