Shilla Duty Free Wins Export-Import Safety Management Excellence Award for the 4th Time

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Shilla Duty Free announced on the 19th that it won the Encouragement Award at the '2022 Export-Import Safety Management Excellent Company (AEO) Utilization Case Sharing Contest' hosted by the Korea Customs Service.

The AEO certification system is an internationally recognized certification granted to companies that have established a global standard export-import safety management system by the World Customs Organization (WCO). Shilla Duty Free received the Gold Award in 2018 and 2020, and the Encouragement Award in 2014. Among hundreds of companies holding AEO certification, Shilla Duty Free is the only company in Korea to have won awards four times.

This year, the event was held in the form of an on-site presentation for the first time in three years, with about 600 employees from AEO companies nationwide attending. Eight judges composed of the Korea Customs Service, the Logistics Association, and professors evaluated the presentations. Shilla Duty Free’s SCM team introduced cases of cost reduction and improved work productivity by utilizing an advanced system based on AEO and the benefits provided to AEO companies under the theme "How Shilla Duty Free Utilizes AEO."

A representative from Shilla Duty Free said, “It is very meaningful that Shilla Duty Free is the only domestic company among hundreds of AEO-certified companies to have won the AEO Utilization Case Sharing Contest four times,” adding, “As the first duty-free company to acquire the AEO AA grade, Shilla Duty Free will make every effort to enhance customer convenience in duty-free shopping in line with the increasing trend of overseas travel through its logistics operation know-how.”
