[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] T Scientific announced on the 16th that it will acquire 100% of the existing shareholder equity of ITnomads, which obtained Korea’s first GS Certification for image file detection ‘i-PMS v2.0’.
The number of shares to be acquired is 300,000, amounting to 21 billion KRW, securing management rights by acquiring 100% equity. This corresponds to 8.61% of the company’s equity capital, and the acquisition purpose is to promote new blockchain-based businesses.
ITnomads is an IT total and security solution service provider with 18 years of experience this year, holding extensive references from financial and public institutions such as Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), Bank of Korea, Korea Exchange, Seoul Metropolitan Government, Supreme Court, as well as general companies including Samsung SDS, SK C&C, LG U+, LGCNS, and Toss Payments.
In addition, in 2019, ITnomads obtained the first domestic GS Certification for image file detection ‘i-PMS v2.0’ and launched the integrated personal information exposure detection and blocking solution ‘i-PMS v2.0’ in the same year. GS Certification is a national certification system for software products, designating them as priority purchase targets for public institutions and preferred products for administrative and public informatization project construction and operation.
In 2020, ITnomads was recognized for its technological capabilities by receiving the highest technical grade T-2 from NICE D&B and has maintained this grade to date.
Recently, ITnomads was selected for the ‘2022 Private Sector Blockchain Pilot Project’ hosted by KISA and the Ministry of Science and ICT, and opened the donation and fund blockchain platform ‘Dream Button’. Starting with the Dream Button project, the company plans to expand new businesses related to cloud and blockchain in addition to personal information protection and data security businesses.
Furthermore, ITnomads will conduct the R&D research project ‘Development of AI-based Personal Information Detection and De-identification Technology from Conversational Text Data’ led by KISA until 2024.
Notably, SecuWiz, the top domestic SSL VPN technology-based company in which ITnomads holds a 32% stake as the second largest shareholder, obtained the ‘SecuwaySSL U V2.1 KISA Information Security Product Performance Evaluation’ from KISA in November this year. Based on SecuWiz’s technological capabilities, the company expects to expand its business in network and Internet of Things (IoT) security fields in the future.
A T Scientific official stated, “We will continue our full-fledged progress as a blockchain and security IT company next year through synergy creation between the existing IT business and ITnomads’ ‘blockchain IT total/solution service’ business and business expansion through continuous investment.”
