KR Motors-AIMS, MOU to Supply Eco-Friendly Electric Two-Wheelers and Activate Battery Exchange Stations

KR Motors-AIMS, MOU to Supply Eco-Friendly Electric Two-Wheelers and Activate Battery Exchange Stations

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] KR Motors, a complete electric two-wheeler manufacturer, and AIMS, a battery swapping station platform company, have signed a business agreement to contribute to carbon reduction by supplying eco-friendly electric two-wheelers and activating battery swapping station infrastructure. At the same time, they also signed a contract to supply 200 KR Motors Illusion vehicles.

The main content of the agreement is business cooperation to expand the supply and infrastructure of various domestically produced electric two-wheelers through the standardization of electric two-wheeler battery swapping stations.

AIMS, which operates nationwide services by introducing electric two-wheelers and battery swapping station solutions to the domestic delivery service market, plans to serve as a gas station for electric two-wheelers by enabling the use of various electric two-wheelers through the standardization of battery swapping stations.

KR Motors, a domestic two-wheeler manufacturer, plans to establish a solid foothold for expanding electric two-wheelers by localizing electric two-wheelers and introducing battery swapping products to the eco-friendly electric two-wheeler market, based on its experience accumulated from manufacturing internal combustion engine two-wheelers.

Through this business agreement, the activation of eco-friendly electric two-wheelers and charging infrastructure will be primarily promoted in Seoul, Daegu, and Busan, and then expanded nationwide. This is expected to broaden the choices for consumers and delivery riders when purchasing electric two-wheelers, and to enhance driving continuity by allowing battery exchanges at nearby battery swapping stations in case of battery depletion during use.

Choi Seonghoon, CEO of AIMS, said, “By operating the electric two-wheeler battery swapping station platform service, we believe we have contributed somewhat to carbon reduction and noise reduction,” and added, “Through this business agreement with KR Motors, we will actively support the supply of eco-friendly electric two-wheelers and the operation of battery swapping stations by introducing various electric two-wheelers that meet users’ needs.”

Ko Jaecheol, CEO of KR Motors, stated, “Thanks to the recently emerging eco-friendly issues, the electric vehicle market will bring new growth momentum,” and added, “We are strengthening our research and development capabilities to proactively respond to market demand for high-performance electric two-wheelers that can achieve speed, power, and driving range comparable to existing internal combustion engine two-wheelers.”

He continued, “Please watch KR Motors, a two-wheeler manufacturer with 40 years of tradition, take a new leap forward by securing a solid advantage in the electric two-wheeler market through cooperation between the two companies.”
