The performance report and self-evaluation meeting for the Palman Daejanggyeong National Arts Competition were conducted.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Palmandaejanggyeong National Art Competition Steering Committee in Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 19th that it held the 2022 6th Palmandaejanggyeong National Art Competition performance report and self-evaluation meeting at the Hapcheon Culture and Arts Center small conference room.
The self-evaluation conducted this time adopted and evaluated key agenda items such as promotion of the contest, handling of submissions and judging operations, post-management of award-winning works, measures for efficient removal of winning works, and improvement plans for art competition operations compared to the previous year.
The self-evaluation committee, composed of Chairman Lee Young-jin and eight other members, stated that despite the long stagnation in artistic activities due to COVID-19, the 6th Palmandaejanggyeong National Art Competition was held successfully with 258 more new and creative works than last year, delivering vivid and moving participation.
This became a precious opportunity to revisit the cultural heritage records that honor the excellent history of our nation.
The Palmandaejanggyeong National Art Competition has been ongoing since the first contest in 2017 to inherit and develop the tradition and spiritual culture of Haeinsa Temple’s Palmandaejanggyeong, a brilliant historical and cultural heritage.
Every year, a promotion plan is established in April, followed by a call for submissions and judging around August, and in October, the award ceremony and exhibition of winning works are held in conjunction with the Hapcheon Records Culture Festival, greatly contributing not only to expanding the base of artists but also to building Hapcheon’s tourism infrastructure and enhancing Hapcheon’s status.
