[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan Port Authority (BPA) will resume the operation of the Korea-Japan international passenger ferry between Busan and Shimonoseki, which had been suspended since March 2020 due to COVID-19, starting from the 16th.
The international passenger ferries Seongheeho and Hamayuho, operating between Busan and Shimonoseki, are vessels with a capacity of 460 to 650 passengers and a tonnage of 160,000 tons, and will operate alternately every day.
The Korea-Japan international passenger ferry routes departing from Busan Port include four routes: Busan-Fukuoka, Busan-Osaka, Busan-Shimonoseki, and Busan-Tsushima.
Since the government's decision to resume operations on October 24, the routes to Fukuoka and Osaka ports resumed in November, and the Busan-Tsushima route is also expected to resume soon.
The BPA Port Industry Department stated, "We will continuously promote facility inspections and convenience improvements at the international passenger terminal to ensure that tourists visiting Busan Port can have a safe and enjoyable trip."
