[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seoyoon] Dongkuk Steel donated approximately 22 million KRW in proceeds obtained from recycling obsolete and unused IT devices (E-Waste) within the company to the Environmental Foundation.

On the 15th, Dongkuk Steel held an 'E-Waste Recycling Proceeds Handover Ceremony' at its headquarters in Ferrum Tower, Jung-gu, Seoul, and decided to support the Environmental Foundation's restoration campaign for the wildfire-affected areas in Gangwon and Uljin.

Dongkuk Steel recycled 1,834 obsolete IT devices, including PCs that were difficult to use due to aging, in collaboration with the used ITC platform 'Mintit', and donated the proceeds of 22.06 million KRW to the Environmental Foundation's wildfire damage restoration campaign in line with the purpose of resource recycling.

Prior to this, in May, Dongkuk Steel collaborated with Mintit to recycle 1,224 donated used mobile phones from employees and donated the proceeds of 11.24 million KRW to the same campaign of the Environmental Foundation.

Dongkuk Steel's consecutive donations are part of the 'DK Green Campaign.' The DK Green Campaign is a campaign that Dongkuk Steel has been implementing since 2017 to promote its electric arc furnace steelmaking business, which produces steel products by recycling steel scrap.

Starting this year, Dongkuk Steel has focused on recycling obsolete and unused IT devices (E-Waste) and began collaborating with Mintit and the Environmental Foundation. Dongkuk Steel plans to develop the Green Campaign into an activity that spreads the value of resource circulation.
