At around 9:50 PM on the 14th, a 119 emergency call was received from Kim's lawyer reporting that Kim attempted an extreme act inside a parked vehicle near a university road in Jangan-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do.
The fire department transferred Kim to a university hospital in Suwon and requested joint response from the police.
Kim is currently receiving treatment at the hospital. He injured his neck with a sharp weapon but is reported to be in no life-threatening condition.
The vehicle Kim was in is reported to be owned by him.
The police plan to investigate all possibilities based on CCTV footage around Kim's vehicle.
Meanwhile, prosecutors investigating the 'Daejang-dong Development Corruption Allegations' arrested aides involved in concealing assets of Kim, the major shareholder of Hwacheon Daeyu Asset Management, the previous day. They also conducted searches of their residences and offices. Kim, who was indicted and detained in November last year, was released on the 24th of last month due to the expiration of the detention period and has been undergoing trial without detention.
