Hall of Fame for Utilizing Local Cultural Assets such as 'Suncheon Cultural Heritage Night Tour'

The Award-Winning Projects Total Twenty-Seven Cases

'Galam Jongga, the birthplace of Hong Beom-yeon-ui in Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk'

On the 14th, the Cultural Heritage Administration will award outstanding projects utilizing local cultural heritage at Hotel ICC in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. This honor is given to cultural content that rediscovers and develops the value and meaning of neglected cultural heritage.

This year's winners total twenty-seven projects. In the 'Saengsaeng Cultural Heritage' category, eleven projects were selected, including 'A Secret Letter Sent by the Independence Army' in Jungnang-gu, Seoul, 'A Trip to Sokcho with Saengsaeng Cultural Heritage' in Sokcho-si, Gangwon, and 'Dulleobo Gong, Norabo Se' in Asan-si, Chungnam. In the 'Utilization of Hyanggyo and Seowon Cultural Heritage' category, six projects were chosen, such as 'Seowon, Opening the Lock' in Buk-gu, Daegu, 'Capturing the History and Culture of Jiksan Hyanggyo' in Cheonan-si, Chungnam, and 'Pomsaeng Pomsa Gangjin Hyanggyo' in Gangjin-gun, Jeonnam.

Jeju Island's 'Life of Haenyeo, and the Dream of the Sea!'

In the 'Cultural Heritage Night Tour' category, four projects were recognized, including 'Incheon Open Port Cultural Heritage Night Tour' in Jung-gu, Incheon, 'Suwon Cultural Heritage Night Tour' in Suwon-si, Gyeonggi, and 'Cheongju Cultural Heritage Night Tour' in Cheongju-si, Chungbuk. In the 'Utilization of Traditional Mountain Temple Cultural Heritage' category, three projects were selected, including 'Cheonggyesa Story Printing House' in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi, and 'The Tiger Carries the Stone Jangseung on Its Back' in Naju-si, Jeonnam. The 'Utilization of Old Houses and Jongga Houses' awardees include 'Learning the Spirit of Patriotism at Imcheonggak!' in Andong-si, Gyeongbuk, 'Gal-am Jongga, the Birthplace of Hong Beom-yeon' in Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk, and an experiential project in Seocheon-gun, Chungnam.

Among these, Jeju's 'Life of Haenyeo, and the Dream of the Sea!', Suncheon-si, Jeonnam's 'Suncheon Cultural Heritage Night Tour', and 'Gal-am Jongga, the Birthplace of Hong Beom-yeon' have been selected as outstanding projects for three consecutive years since 2020 and have been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
