[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City, together with the Busan Tourism Organization, successfully held Busan's first solo overseas roadshow titled "Travel Connect," connecting Busan and Thailand, in Bangkok, Thailand, for four days from the 8th to the 11th.

This event was Busan's first solo roadshow held overseas, unlike previous fairs and briefings it participated in. It was organized to announce the launch of Busan's tourism brand (BI) and slogan (Play, Work, Live) and to promote Busan as an international tourist city in the overseas market.

First, on December 8-9, sales calls were made to over 60 tourism and travel companies in Thailand, including Journeyland, the number one travel agency handling inbound tourism products from Thailand, along with Busan's tourism industry.

Also, on the 9th, a Busan-Thailand joint tourism briefing session was held to introduce Busan's tourism content and provide networking opportunities, laying the foundation for discovering business models.

From December 10 to 11, the roadshow held at Samyan Mit Town in downtown Bangkok was operated in the form of a brand store, featuring the Busan tourism brand (BI) promotional video, photo zones, and a Busan travel map completion experience zone. Various events such as K-POP cover dance performances, Busan travel OX quizzes, and lucky draws received great responses from local visitors.

In particular, the famous Thai idol group Proxie and actor-singer Saintsup participated, promoting Busan to about 10,000 Thai citizens who enthusiastically responded.

The city reported that the #visitbusan hashtag used by the audience and fans participating in this event ranked in the real-time trending topics in Thailand, which became an opportunity to increase interest in Busan.

A Busan city official said, "Thailand is a world-renowned tourist destination making all-out efforts to recover the tourism industry after COVID-19, and it is a key market with which Busan must cooperate." He added, "Especially, the high interest in Korea shown by Thai citizens at this event is evidence of the global K-culture craze. To connect this interest to Busan's tourism industry, we will also closely exchange with the Thai tourism industry and strive to revitalize the tourism market."
