BNT Supplies AI Crowd Response Control System to Seoul Local Governments... First Domestic Case

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] BNGT announced on the 13th that it has completed the expanded application of a surveillance system utilizing an AI (artificial intelligence) video analysis system to Seoul's autonomous districts.

In November, BNGT expanded the application of the surveillance system in the relevant autonomous district to prevent accidents in densely populated areas. The existing CCTV surveillance program only selected and displayed CCTV footage of incidents such as people or vehicles falling, wandering, or intruding on the surveillance screen.

BNGT and the relevant autonomous district added a 'crowd' function to the existing surveillance program, which notifies when more than two people are densely packed per 1㎡ in a crowded area, and a 'people counting' function that measures the number of floating populations by time zone in specific spaces. Through this, they plan to warn of accident risks via CCTV speakers in areas crowded during various events, Christmas, Children's Day, etc., to induce dispersion.

BNGT's AI video analysis system allows special-purpose searches such as finding dementia patients or missing children by setting specific behaviors and clothing to be searched for. It is also efficient as it can be managed by a small number of personnel and has the advantage of being able to detect even fine details that humans might miss with high accuracy.

BNGT and the relevant autonomous district expect that by adding a crowd accident response system, it will be possible to objectively confirm the degree of population density, reduce accident risks, and establish a dense safety net.

BNGT's AI Research Institute is currently conducting three national projects related to AI. The project names are Smart Daycare Model Development and Demonstration Project, Disaster Situation Recognition Data Linkage Support Digital Twin Platform Technology Development Project for National SOC Safety Management, and Multi-video Situation Recognition and Object Identification Data Construction Project. BNGT stated that it plans to continue numerous national projects and in-house research with advanced AI technology.

A company official said, "Our AI business division has been recognized for its technological capabilities and is supplying solutions to surveillance systems managed by many local governments," adding, "Remote maintenance sales are also steadily generated, continuously contributing to sales."

He added, "We plan to expand the construction of surveillance system safety nets nationwide."
