The DMC Industry-Academia Promotion Foundation announced that it held the pitching event and awards ceremony for the ‘2022 DMC Innovation Camp Startup Competition’ (hereinafter ‘DIC2022’) on the 18th of last month at the DMC Advanced Industry Center in Sangam-dong, Seoul, together with DMC Conet.
Co-hosted by the DMC Industry-Academia Promotion Foundation and DMC Conet, ‘DIC2022’ is a startup competition aimed at entrepreneurs with the capability to lead the 4th Industrial Revolution, promoting successful commercialization through systematic nurturing of innovative ideas.
Now in its 7th year, ‘DIC2022’ started recruiting participating teams in October for two tracks: prospective entrepreneurs and early-stage startups. The competition successfully completed a two-month schedule including document screening in November, startup education, mentoring day, and IR pitching day.
In the finals, evaluation committee members composed of venture capitalists and startup support experts attended, where IR pitching presentations on startup items and business models of early-stage startups were conducted, and seven teams were selected as the final award winners.

The grand prize was awarded to Thirdworks Company (CEO Minji Kim), which developed a ‘big data-based enterprise import sourcing management solution.’ The excellence award went to Maze Co., Ltd. (CEO Kiseon Song), which developed a ‘real-time guaranteed customer-customized self-employed curating platform,’ and R2C Company (CEO Dongho Kim), which developed the ‘community-type research platform, Pickple.’
The merit awards were given to four teams: YamiFun Co., Ltd. (a marketing platform exclusively for small business owners & a 365-day-a-year metaverse franchise brand world), BeautyID Co., Ltd. (a personalized self gel nail sticker service and designer collaboration platform ‘iNail’), TrackFarm Co., Ltd. (an AI motion analysis-based individual management solution for pig farms to improve disease surveillance and management efficiency called ‘TrackFarm’), and Botash Co., Ltd. (an eco-friendly cooling box that replaces styrofoam boxes for frozen and refrigerated food delivery).
Goh Hongseok, Chairman of the DMC Industry-Academia Promotion Foundation, said, “We hope this competition becomes a growth engine that builds confidence and convergence capabilities suitable for the 4th Industrial Revolution era in early-stage startups,” adding, “We will continue to create opportunities to discover and support innovative and excellent ideas.”
