[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Cheongsong County, Gyeongbuk, held the first shipment ceremony for the export of Cheongsong apples to Indonesia on the 9th at the Cheongsong Apple Distribution Center Hyundong APC.
The ceremony was attended by Cheongsong County Governor Yoon Kyung-hee, County Council Chairman Kwon Tae-jun, county council members, Provincial Assembly member Shin Hyo-kwang, Gyeongbuk Province officials, and producing farmers to celebrate the first export.
Cheongsong apples are produced in an optimal apple cultivation area characterized by abundant sunlight and a large temperature difference between day and night due to geographical features, and are expected to receive favorable evaluations not only domestically but also overseas.
This export has attracted great attention as it was achieved through over two years of preparation, with cooperation from Cheongsong County, the Gyeongbuk Province Jakarta branch, and the persistent efforts of the Cheongsong Apple Distribution Center to lead exports to Indonesia.
Governor Yoon Kyung-hee said, “We will do our best to produce high-quality Cheongsong apples and expand exports so that Cheongsong apples can be recognized as the best quality not only domestically but also overseas.”
Cheongsong County was the first in Korea to receive approval for a 300-ton apple export quota to Indonesia, and last month, Governor Yoon Kyung-hee and related officials urgently visited Indonesia for on-site inspection following the quota approval, actively pioneering overseas markets.
