[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is visiting Saudi Arabia, held a series of meetings with Middle Eastern leaders from Egypt, Palestine, Sudan, Kuwait, and others. He reaffirmed the "One China" principle while promising to strengthen cooperation with China.
According to Chinese media on the 9th, President Xi held consecutive bilateral talks in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, the previous afternoon with Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of Egypt; Mahmoud Abbas, head of the Palestinian Authority (PA); Abdel Fattah Burhan, leader of the Sudanese military; and Mishal Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait.
Through each meeting, President Xi promised to enhance economic cooperation and support. The Middle Eastern leaders expressed their support for the "One China" principle and voiced backing for China regarding the Hong Kong and Xinjiang issues.
On the same day, President Xi also held summit talks with Tunisia, Iraq, Mauritania, Djibouti, and Qatar.
Chinese media reported that so far, President Xi has held bilateral summit meetings with 10 countries, including Saudi Arabia.
