Damyang-gun Launches Full-Scale Efforts to Secure National Road and Local Subsidy Budget for 2024

Holding a Report Meeting on National Road Subsidy Project Proposals... 46 Key Proposed Projects for 2024, 1.0176 Trillion Won

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 9th that it held a 2024 national and provincial budget proposal project discovery meeting to resolve major local issues and drive future development during the 8th term of the elected government.

At the meeting chaired by County Governor Lee Byeongno, key projects aligned with the fulfillment of the 8th term election pledges and the policy direction of the government and Jeollanam-do were discovered, and strategic funding acquisition plans according to the government budget schedule were also discussed.

The main discovered projects include ▲ Construction of the County Residents' Sports Center (40 billion KRW) ▲ Development of Southern Region Wide-area Tourism (43.1 billion KRW) ▲ Establishment of Food-specialized Agricultural and Industrial Complex (48 billion KRW) ▲ Construction of the 2nd General Industrial Complex (205 billion KRW) ▲ Damyang-eup Urban Regeneration Innovation District National Pilot Project (150 billion KRW) ▲ Creation of Damyang Agricultural Products Integrated Distribution Platform (100 billion KRW) ▲ Establishment of Smart Livestock ICT Pilot Complex (20 billion KRW) ▲ Damyang AgTech Advanced Agricultural Technology Complex (20 billion KRW) ▲ Installation of Municipal Waste Incineration Facility (29.6 billion KRW) ▲ Construction of Administrative Complex Town (30 billion KRW), totaling 46 projects and 1.0176 trillion KRW.

Through this meeting, the county plans to discover additional projects beyond the proposed national and provincial budget projects and focus on proposing them to Jeollanam-do and central government ministries.

Governor Lee Byeongno said, “Through this meeting, we have taken the first step toward securing the 2024 national and provincial budget,” and added, “We will concentrate administrative power and do our best to create a ‘self-reliant economic city where everyone is happy’ as promised to the residents.”
