[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] On the 9th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a leadership enhancement workshop and regular general meeting of the Changwon Volunteer Fire Brigade Association at the Jinhae Marine Park Marine Solar Park Conference Room.
On this day, about 70 people attended, including Mayor Hong Nam-pyo, the head of Changwon Fire Headquarters, and members of the Changwon Volunteer Fire Brigade Association.
The Changwon Volunteer Fire Brigade consists of 1,769 members across 54 teams, who are residents of the area. They usually engage in their regular occupations but assist in firefighting duties by responding to special incidents such as fires.
The event began with an opening ceremony, followed by the presentation of the Mayor of Changwon's commendation to encourage the hard work of the volunteer fire brigade members. Then, there was an evaluation of the 2022 volunteer fire brigade activities and discussions on improvement measures, along with a presentation of next year's business plans.
At the conclusion of the event, there was a time to reaffirm the commitment to making Changwon a safe city at the center of Northeast Asia through communication with the mayor, which drew particular attention.
Mayor Hong said, “Volunteer fire brigade members play the role of local safety guardians through assisting in on-site activities such as fire, rescue, and emergency medical services, as well as various volunteer activities,” adding, “I hope you continue to support the firefighters and do your best to build a safe Changwon as you have been doing.”
