Emart Launches High-Quality Shine Muscat Gift Sets... "Lowest Price Ever"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Emart announced on the 11th that it will sell eight types of Seol Shine Muscat sets produced using a farm quality database until the 11th of next month.

Emart has digitized the quality data of over 280 farms. The most important factor, sweetness (above 15 Brix), is a given, and they also manage detailed aspects such as grape aroma that enhances flavor and the size of each grape that provides a soft texture. Based on this confidence in quality, the quantity of Seol Shine Muscat gift sets has been increased by about 40% compared to last year. The representative product, the Shine Muscat 3-piece set, is priced at 49,000 KRW, about 25% cheaper than last Chuseok, making it the lowest price ever for holiday set promotions.

The quantity of highland Shine Muscat grown at over 1,000 meters above sea level in Jirisan and Munjangdae has been increased by about 30-40% compared to last year. Highland areas not only receive more sunlight than lowlands but also have a suitable temperature difference between day and night, resulting in higher fruit sweetness. Additionally, good drainage allows water to flow well, enabling the Shine Muscat to retain its rich juice.

Recent analysis of holiday fruit set sales shows that Shine Muscat sets saw a significant increase in sales during both last Chuseok and Lunar New Year. According to Emart, Shine Muscat sets accounted for only about 5% of fruit set sales during Chuseok 2020, but this rose to 11% last year and about 15% this year.

An Emart official said, “We are confident in the high quality as the products are made mainly from excellent farm raw materials managed since 2020,” adding, “We have prepared various types of sets ranging from the Shine Muscat 3-piece set to mixed sets combining Shine Muscat with apples, pears, mangoes, and more.”
