Changwon Special City Holds Festival Committee Meeting to Select Organizing Body for Jinhae Gunhangje

The Yi Chungmugong Seonyang Naval Port Festival Committee Takes Charge of the Jinhae Naval Port Festival Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the Changwon City Festival Committee meeting.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, held the Changwon City Festival Committee meeting on the 9th at the Changwon Cultural Foundation conference room to select the organization that will host the ‘61st Jinhae Gunhang Festival’ and the ‘2023 Jinhae Military Band and Honor Guard Festival,’ which are being prepared for the first time in four years.


At the meeting, the Lee Chungmugong Promotion Gunhang Festival Committee was selected as the organization to host the Jinhae Gunhang Festival and the Military Band and Honor Guard Festival scheduled for next spring.


Various opinions were also exchanged regarding the matters discussed at the ‘Jinhae Gunhang Festival Development Plan Discussion Meeting’ held at Changwon City Hall on November 22.


Jo Myung-rae, the 2nd Deputy Mayor, said, “The Jinhae Gunhang Festival, returning to the citizens after a long four years, will be promoted in connection with Changwon’s unique contents such as tourism resources and defense industry to make it a more substantial festival. We will work closely with the hosting organization and related institutions to revitalize the festival and strengthen safety management plans to prepare for the crowds.”


The Changwon City Festival Committee was launched in January 2020 to regulate matters necessary for fostering and supporting festivals, improve the cultural quality of life for citizens, and contribute to the activation of the tourism industry and local economy. It consists of 13 members, including public officials of grade 4 or higher affiliated with the city, city council members, cultural planners, and professors.
