Children of Danmil Village School in Uiseong-gun, Gyeongbuk, built a 'Tree House' inside Danmil Elementary School together with village residents as part of the Future Education District project.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-sun] Uiseong-gun, Gyeongbuk, was the only region in Gyeongbuk to be selected on the 9th for the Ministry of Education's '2023 Future Education District Contest Project,' jointly promoted with the Uiseong Office of Education.
Since being first selected in the 2021 contest project, Uiseong-gun has achieved the accomplishment of being selected for three consecutive years, securing 100 million won in project funds through this selection.
The Future Education District project is a program that supports the establishment of a sustainable local education ecosystem through cooperation among the private sector, government, and academia, enabling the development and promotion of various educational projects for village children.
Uiseong-gun is promoting the Future Education District project by forming a Future Education Support Team as an intermediate support organization with the Uiseong Office of Education.
This year, they have promoted Uiseong ON debate education, specialized curriculum program support projects, and special lectures for the Future Education District village education community. Next year, they plan to strengthen the local-centered cooperative system and expand educational autonomy through the revitalization of the village education council.
Kim Ju-su, the mayor of Uiseong-gun, said, “We will spare no effort to provide various support so that children in the Uiseong area can freely pursue their dreams centered on the Future Education District project,” adding, “We will enhance local educational competitiveness and establish a foundation for children to grow up healthily.”
