Seongnam City to Provide Up to 20 Million KRW for Small-Scale Aging Apartment Complexes... Applications Open Until the 30th Seongnam City will continue its subsidy support program for small-scale multi-family housing next year.

[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province is accepting applications for small-scale multi-family housing subsidy support until the 30th of this month.

The small-scale multi-family housing subsidy support project is a program that supports the improvement of old communal facilities to create a pleasant residential environment in aging multi-family housing.

The eligible housing includes multi-family houses and row houses built with permits under the Building Act, and residential-commercial mixed-use apartments with fewer than 150 households, where the building has been approved for use for 15 years or more. A total of 4,335 multi-family housing units in the Seongnam area qualify.

The support areas include ▲maintenance and repair of rooftop communal areas ▲maintenance and repair of exterior wall leaks ▲replacement of old communal water pipes ▲repair of roads, sidewalks, security lights, and ground parking lots within the complex ▲dredging and repair of sewage systems ▲emergency repairs of stone retaining walls, retaining walls, and cut slopes.

Among these, maintenance and repair of rooftop communal areas also include buildings that have been approved for use for 5 years or more.

The subsidy covers up to 80% of the total project cost, with a maximum support amount of 20 million KRW.

The remaining costs must be borne by the respective multi-family housing.

Applications can be made by a representative who has obtained approval from the residents' representative meeting or consent from two-thirds of the residents.

The city will select eligible small-scale multi-family housing through on-site inspections and review by the evaluation committee by April next year.

This year, the city supported improvement works for old communal facilities in 87 small-scale multi-family housing units with 400 million KRW.
