Next Year's Budget Proposal 684.2 Billion KRW, 28.9 Billion KRW Increase, 4.42% Compared to This Year

Lee Sang-geun, Governor of Goseong County, Gyeongnam, is delivering a policy speech at the county council.

Lee Sang-geun, the governor of Goseong County, Gyeongnam, stated this during his administrative speech at the 2nd regular meeting of the 279th Goseong County Council held on the 9th, marking next year as “the inaugural year to renew Goseong and empower its residents” in conjunction with the submission of the 2023 budget proposal.

In his administrative speech, the governor presented the direction for next year’s county administration as follows: ▲ Concentrate all administrative efforts on recovering the population to 50,000 and promoting youth policies ▲ Create a vibrant Goseong economy through attracting businesses and creating jobs ▲ Improve residential conditions by expanding investment in rural area living SOC and promoting region-tailored urban regeneration projects ▲ Establish a city of culture, tourism, and sports industry ▲ Promote welfare administration that is warm and happy for all residents.

Detailed plans include: ▲ Concentrate all administrative efforts on recovering and maintaining the population of 50,000 for regional revitalization and implementing policies for youth ▲ Create new growth engines by attracting businesses and generate abundant jobs to build a vibrant Goseong economy ▲ Improve residential conditions and enhance quality of life and urban competitiveness by expanding investment in rural area living SOC and promoting region-tailored urban regeneration projects ▲ Develop a unique and differentiated city of culture, tourism, and sports industry by combining active sports industry with history and culture ▲ Implement a “from cradle to grave” life-cycle welfare administration that ensures happiness and warmth for all residents.

The total scale of the next year’s budget proposal is 684.25897 billion KRW, which is an increase of 28.963756 billion KRW compared to this year’s original budget, marking a 4.42% increase from the previous year.

The governor said, “The administration and the council will form a partnership based on checks and balances, cooperation, and support to lead the county administration stably and create a Goseong that brings new changes and hope to the residents.”
