[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] LIG Nex1 (CEO Kim Ji-chan) has introduced a new ‘management guide’ that encourages employees to voluntarily adhere to and practice ethics and compliance regulations.

On the 9th, LIG Nex1 announced that it has completely revised the ‘Ethics and Compliance Management Guide’ aimed at internalizing compliance and distributed it to its employees.

The company stated that the guide was fully revised for the first time in six years since 2016, under the supervision of a law firm, and published as an e-book.

The guide reflects the enactment and amendments of related laws such as the ‘Improper Solicitation and Graft Act’ and the ‘Conflict of Interest Prevention Act.’ It also outlines employees’ duties and prohibited acts in five areas including anti-corruption, fair trade and subcontracting, and defense technology protection. A self-assessment checklist is also provided for employees to review themselves.

LIG Nex1 is also working to spread awareness of ethics and compliance management among overseas employees by developing an English version of the ethics and compliance management pledge system.

A company official explained that efforts are being made to internalize an ethics and compliance management culture through the publication of the ‘Ethics and Compliance Management Report’ to enhance understanding of ethics and compliance activities, distribution of compliance training materials and compliance news to partner companies for mutual growth.

Along with this, LIG Nex1 is conducting various compliance activities to establish an ethics and compliance management culture. They plan to continuously strengthen these efforts through △ ethics and compliance management pledges by employees and partner companies △ meetings with voluntary compliance practitioners △ distribution of the ethics and compliance management guide.

Park Sung-wan, head of the Legal Compliance Team at LIG Nex1, said, “Compliance management is essential for the healthy and sustainable development of South Korea’s defense industry,” adding, “We will spread a transparent and clean corporate culture through the revised ethics and compliance management guide.”
