[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Purmil has presented a management vision for normalizing operations after retracting the decision to terminate its business. The company plans to actively attract stable contract manufacturing (OEM) production and set a monthly sales target of 9 billion KRW as a benchmark for survival.

On the 9th, Shin Donghwan, CEO of Purmil, announced a vision at the Yeongdeungpo headquarters in the presence of all employees to restructure the business with focus and selection to overcome current difficulties and achieve profitable management.

First, the company intends to operate its product lineup based on profitability rather than sales volume. CEO Shin emphasized, “Although sales volume may decrease to about 50% of previous levels, we will ensure profitability under the current structure by selectively managing profitable items and actively attracting OEM orders.”

To transform the company’s profit structure, unprofitable items with high cost ratios such as raw milk will be boldly discontinued through focus and selection, while expanding the acquisition of OEM products that allow stable operations to create a profitable structure. Additionally, a monthly sales target of 9 billion KRW is set as a survival indicator, urging a change in mindset for transformation.

Furthermore, to operate the company more efficiently, the current ‘inverted pyramid’ workforce structure will gradually be improved to a ‘regular pyramid’ structure, creating an environment to attract young talent. To this end, the company plans to establish a personnel policy based on performance and ability rather than seniority, aiming to build a satisfying organizational culture for all.

CEO Shin also urged employees to improve their mindset through unity and leading by example. He emphasized that internal unity is the top priority to overcome the crisis and called for firm cohesion to stabilize the unsettled atmosphere and move forward again. Shin stated, “If all Purmil family members passionately unite and lead by example, the company will surely return to normal.”

Additionally, the company will strengthen internal and external communication by openly gathering opinions with an open mind. Listening attentively to employees, partners, distributors, and consumers, Purmil pledges to build trust through heartfelt communication. Finally, CEO Shin emphasized, “We will turn the current crisis into an opportunity to become a stronger and more beloved Purmil.”
