Unveiling Ceremony of the Love Temperature Tower and On-site Fundraising Event
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam, held the unveiling ceremony of the ‘Hope 2023 Sharing Campaign’ Love Temperature Tower and an on-site fundraising event under the slogan ‘Sharing Together, Sustainable Gyeongnam’ on the outdoor stage of Namhae-eup Administrative Welfare Center on the 8th.
The Love Temperature Tower is annually produced, installed, and donated by the Namhae Cheongsilhoe, which practices community development and volunteer work. This year, with a fundraising goal of 170 million KRW, the temperature of the tower rises by 1℃ each time 1% of the goal, 1.7 million KRW, is raised.
At the event, Namhae County Governor Jang Chung-nam, Namhae County Council Chairman Im Tae-sik, members of Namhae Cheongsilhoe, various local organizations, volunteers, and residents attended, making the occasion meaningful.
In particular, children from local daycare centers brought the ‘Sharing Piggy Banks’ that had been distributed in advance, filled with donations, directly visiting the fundraising site and brightening the event even more.
Following the unveiling of the temperature tower, the donation ceremony was held, where Namhae-eup Village Chiefs donated 1 million KRW, Saemaeul Leaders Namhae-eup Council and Namhae-eup Saemaeul Women’s Association 300,000 KRW, Namhae-eup Sports Association President 1 million KRW, Namhae Cheongsilhoe 2 million KRW, Misong Saemaeul Credit Union 2 million KRW, Bukrim Church 1 million KRW, Namhae Credit Union 300,000 KRW, and Mr. Lee Han-ho from Idong-myeon 500,000 KRW. A total of 9,553,600 KRW was donated at the ceremony alone, adding to the spirit of sharing.
At the same time, the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea set up an on-site fundraising reception desk at the event venue, and members of Deungbul Namhae Branch supported fundraising activities to enable residents passing by to easily participate in donations. Additionally, the Duridarye Volunteer Group provided warm tea, and the Korea Federation of Entertainment Artists added warmth with a free performance. Furthermore, the Community Chest of Korea provided 300 servings of fish cake through a food truck, delivering warmth to the residents.
Governor Jang said, “I sincerely thank the many organizations and residents in Namhae-gun who donated today,” and added, “I hope the Love Temperature Tower’s sharing temperature surpasses 100℃ during the campaign period, making Namhae a place full of warm affection and kindness.”
Namhae-gun plans to continue collecting sponsorship goods and fundraising activities to help neighbors achieve a sharing temperature of 100 degrees by January 31 next year through the Hope 2023 Sharing Campaign.
