[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 8th that it held a completion ceremony for the 'Galma District Vulnerable Area Living Condition Improvement Project,' a resident life-oriented project, in Galma Village, Imsil-eup.
The completion ceremony was attended by Vice County Governor Lee Taesu, County Council Chairman Lee Seongjae, Imsil-gun Branch Manager of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation Lee Jinsan, Imsil-eup Mayor Park Semin, and village residents.
The Galma District Vulnerable Area Living Condition Improvement Project was selected in 2019 as a public contest project hosted by the Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development.
From 2019 to 2022, over four years, a total project cost of 2.1 billion KRW, including 1.6 billion KRW in national funds, was invested.
Starting with the construction of GalmaN Shelter (village hall), the project carefully promoted only essential daily life projects such as fence maintenance, vacant house demolition, roof improvement, and village road maintenance, resulting in high resident satisfaction.
The GalmaN Shelter completed at the ceremony was built on the site of the existing village hall in Galmari, Imsil-eup, with an investment of 300 million KRW after demolishing the old building.
The county started construction in June last year, creating a total floor area of 105㎡, consisting of a shared kitchen, living room, and two sarangbangs (community rooms), carefully designed to ensure no inconvenience for both male and female residents.
It is also expected that GalmaN Shelter will serve as a comfortable communication space for residents and effectively function as a community room frequently used in daily life.
County Governor Shim Min said, “With the construction of GalmaN Shelter, fence maintenance, vacant house demolition, and village road paving in Galma-ri, the overall village remodeling has been completed, and I believe many residents will be greatly satisfied. We will continue to make greater efforts to discover and promote various and active resident-oriented policies to improve residents' happiness and quality of life.”
