Establishment and Operation of Unmanned Parking Fee Settlement System at Garak Market Unmanned Payment System Location

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation (President Youngpyo Moon) is promoting the "Garak Market Unmanned Parking Fee Payment System Construction and Operation" to improve the efficiency of Garak Market parking lot management and enhance user convenience.


The operation targets four entrances: North Gate (1 payment station), South Gate (1 payment station), East Gate (1 payment station), and South Gate 1 (2 payment stations). After establishing the unmanned payment system and conducting internal and external promotions, the system is scheduled to be fully implemented from 10 a.m. on December 19.


The unmanned payment system to be constructed this time will consider the height differences of drivers by vehicle type, such as passenger cars and trucks, and will build payment monitors in two tiers, upper and lower, to minimize inconvenience in vehicle payment.


Payment using the unmanned system is possible only by card (credit, debit), discount coupons, and Samsung Pay; cash payments must be made at manned payment booths. However, disabled persons and small car users eligible for fee reductions must use the manned payment booths when using discount coupons to ensure smooth payment processing.


Additionally, for parking fee reductions, four types of registered vehicles?national merit recipients, disabled persons, small cars, and low-emission vehicles?will receive automatic discounts based on information registered with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety without separate procedures. Other eligible vehicles for discounts (such as veterans, war veterans, and holders of multi-child cards) will not receive automatic discounts.


In such cases, users can click the call (Help) button on the unmanned payment machine and receive guidance from the "Parking Civil Complaint Call Center" staff to obtain the discount.


Furthermore, separate from the toll booth unmanned payment system, users are encouraged to actively use the "Pre-Unmanned Payment Machines" installed in the Garak Mall sales and office buildings for quick parking fee payment and exit. By paying fees in advance, users can exit smoothly without going through the payment booth procedures.


Meanwhile, the corporation plans to produce and install signage at each unmanned payment station and paint guiding lines on the pavement to ensure users can easily find the unmanned payment system and experience no inconvenience.


Kwon Gitae, Head of the Environmental Development Headquarters, stated, "We expect that the introduction of this unmanned parking fee payment system will provide users with a more convenient and smart wholesale market parking and traffic environment," adding, "We will continue to expand the unmanned parking fee payment system step-by-step in line with current trends."
