[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunwoo Lee] Lee Boo-jin, President of Hotel Shilla, was the only Korean to be named in Forbes, the American economic magazine's list of the '100 Most Influential Women in the World.' Her ranking rose four places from 89th last year to 85th this year.

On the 7th (local time), Forbes announced the list of the 100 most influential women in the world, selected based on international influence and media coverage. Lee was the only Korean selected, ranking 85th.

The most influential woman this year was Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Union (EU) Commission. She was followed by Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank (ECB); Kamala Harris, Vice President of the United States; Mary Barra, Chairwoman of General Motors (GM); and Abigail Johnson, CEO of Fidelity Investments.

Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of Italy, was ranked 7th. Forbes described her as "the most notable figure among women appearing on the list for the first time this year," highlighting her as Italy's first female prime minister. Tsai Ing-wen, President of Taiwan, ranked 17th, the highest among women from Asian countries. Xiomara Castro, the first female president of Honduras, ranked 94th.

Meanwhile, in the '100 Women of the Year' list previously announced by the British BBC, Lee Mi-kyung, Vice Chairwoman of CJ Group, and Park Ji-hyun, former co-chair of the Democratic Party's Emergency Response Committee, were included.
