Gyeongnam Provincial Council Chairman Kim Jin-bu Donates 1 Million Won in Special Membership Fees to the Korean Red Cross

Gyeongnam Provincial Council Chairman Kim Jin-bu Donates 1 Million Won in Special Membership Fees to the Korean Red Cross Chairman Kim Jin-bu of the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council donated a special membership fee of 1 million won to the Korean Red Cross Gyeongnam Chapter.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] On the 8th, Gyeongsangnam-do Council Chairman Kim Jin-bu held the 2023 Korean Red Cross Special Membership Fee Presentation Ceremony at the council and delivered a special membership fee of 1 million won to the Korean Red Cross Gyeongnam Chapter.


Chairman Kim said, "I deeply appreciate the Korean Red Cross Gyeongnam Chapter for always taking the lead in disaster relief activities and being a source of hope for the residents through dedicated volunteer work," adding, "For the happiness of all 3.4 million residents, the Gyeongsangnam-do Council will spare no support to ensure that the relief and volunteer activities of the Korean Red Cross Gyeongnam Chapter proceed smoothly. We also ask the residents to actively participate in donating the Red Cross special membership fee."


The Korean Red Cross has set the period from the 1st of this month to January 31, 2023, as the 2023 Red Cross Membership Fee Intensive Fundraising Period and is conducting a campaign.


The collected Red Cross membership fees are used for various humanitarian activities such as relief efforts for disaster victims who have suffered sudden disasters, emergency support for vulnerable groups and families in crisis within the province, first aid and water safety education, and youth Red Cross (RCY) projects.


Individuals who pay the Red Cross membership fee are eligible for a tax credit up to 100% of their income amount during year-end tax settlement; individual business owners can treat it as an expense up to 100% of their income amount, and corporations can treat it as an expense within 50% of their income amount.
