[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] On the afternoon of the 7th, Mayor Oh Se-hoon visited Jungnang-gu and was warmly welcomed by District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi and local residents.

Mayor Oh attended the opening ceremony of ‘Jungnang Indoor Playground,’ the first Seoul-style kids cafe in Jungnang-gu.

The opening ceremony was held with about 50 attendees including Mayor Oh Se-hoon of Seoul, Jungnang-gu Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi, and residents, proceeding in the order of congratulatory speeches, cake cutting, unveiling ceremony, commemorative photo session, and facility tour.

After having a conversation with Mayor Oh, Mayor Ryu, who attended the event, led applause saying, “Mayor Oh Se-hoon was the one who relocated Seoul Medical Center to its current site and has also greatly helped with the relocation of the SH headquarters.”

In response, Mayor Oh introduced his special connection with Mayor Ryu, saying, “When I was mayor of Seoul before, Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi served as my chief secretary. You didn’t know that, right?”

He continued, “I will actively support the development of Jungnang-gu,” which was met with great cheers from the attendees.

Mayor Ryu has a unique relationship with Mayor Oh, having served closely as chief secretary, design division head, and Han River project division head during Mayor Oh’s 4th and 5th terms.

‘Jungnang Indoor Playground,’ the second Seoul-style kids cafe and the first in Jungnang-gu, is a more spacious and well-maintained cafe compared to the first branch located in Jung-gu, and Mayor Oh personally attended the event, showing his affection for the facility.

Jungnang-gu Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi said, “I hope children can freely run, play, and grow happily at Jungnang Indoor Playground regardless of the weather,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to make Jungnang-gu a great place to raise children where both parents and kids are happy.”

‘Jungnang Indoor Playground’ is an indoor play space for children aged 24 months to 5 years. After a two-week trial operation starting August 26, it officially opened in September. Equipped with various play equipment such as slides and trampolines, the comfortable facility is popular as children can use it for an affordable price of 2,000 KRW and guardians for 1,000 KRW.
