Exhibition of Award-Winning Human Rights Works and Talk Concert to Promote Human Rights Culture in Daily Life
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City announced on the 8th that it will hold a Human Rights Week event commemorating the 74th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at the Buk-gu Happiness Harmony Center until the 9th.
This event was prepared to raise residents' awareness and sensitivity toward human rights in order to spread a culture of human rights.
Starting with a commemorative ceremony, various programs will be held including ▲ an exhibition of award-winning works from the human rights art contest and human rights books ▲ screening of videos documenting human rights policy implementation ▲ and a human rights talk concert with honorary human rights officers.
The exhibition will showcase about 30 award-winning works from the human rights art contest, including paintings, stories, and slogans, along with this year’s selected human rights books from the National Human Rights Commission’s Human Rights Library.
At the talk concert, hosted by a human rights activist, honorary human rights officers and children from local children’s centers will participate to share diverse information about experiences in protecting and practicing human rights.
Additionally, a human rights guide booklet introducing cases of human rights violations, discrimination, and human rights stories will be produced and distributed to enhance sensitivity toward human rights.
Director Moon said, “I hope that through this Human Rights Week event, human rights can take root in everyday life,” and added, “We will strive to help Buk-gu grow into a human rights-friendly city together with its residents.”
