[Asia Economy Reporter Eunju Lee] A technology finance seminar, a key agenda for establishing a corporate finance-centered bank in the Chungcheong region, will be held on December 9th from 3 PM at the Oasis Hall of Sunshine Hotel in Daejeon.
Co-hosted by the Bank of Korea and the Korean Association of Financial Management, this seminar focuses on "The Role and Challenges of Technology Finance for Startup Activation," with an emphasis on "Fostering Startups in Daedeok Valley" in relation to establishing a corporate finance-centered bank in the Chungcheong region.
Yoon Chang-hyun, a member of the National Assembly (People Power Party, Political Affairs Committee) who is playing a central role in the new government's financial policy and serving as the chairman of the promotion committee for establishing a regional bank in Chungcheong, will deliver the keynote speech titled "Global Trends in Technology Finance and Domestic Implications," revealing the core agenda of the Chungcheong corporate finance-centered bank.
The first presentation will be given by Park Yong-rin, Senior Research Fellow at the Korea Capital Market Institute, on "The Role and Development Direction of Technology Finance for Startup Activation," followed by the second presentation by Professor Kim Sang-wook of Hanbat National University on "Strategies and Challenges for Establishing a New Technology Finance Specialized Bank."
In the panel discussion, moderated by Professor Choi Young-soo (Hankuk University of Foreign Studies), experts including Kim Myung-seok, Manager at the Bank of Korea; Professor Kang Won (Sejong University); Song Won-gang, Executive Director at KB Securities; Son Su-jeong, Research Fellow at the Science and Technology Policy Institute; and Lee Yong-kwan, CEO of Bluepoint Partners, will engage in discussions.
Kim Moo-sung, President of the Korean Association of Financial Management and Professor at Pusan National University, expressed, "I am pleased to provide a platform for consensus and communication among industry, academia, research, and government in Daejeon Metropolitan City, which is developing with the goal of becoming a world-class economic city, centered on Daedeok Valley to foster technology finance for startup activation." He added that he hopes this seminar will "be a turning point for Daejeon to lead global technology and industry."
The seminar on "The Role and Challenges of Technology Finance for Startup Activation" is open to all interested citizens of Daejeon. Pre-registration will begin at 2:30 PM on December 9th, with the seminar running from 3 PM to 6 PM, followed by a dinner.
