Lotte GRS Opens 3rd Lotteria Store in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Lotte GRS announced on the 8th that it has opened its third Lotteria store in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Lotte GRS signed a master franchise agreement with the local Mongolian company EugeneTech Mongolia LLC in September 2017, and after opening the first store in 2018 and the second store in 2019, it opened the third store on the 2nd of this month, about three years later.

The third Lotteria store in Mongolia is located at the Zaisan Victory Observation Deck, a representative landmark offering a panoramic view of Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. Based on the positive local customer response at the first and second stores located in areas with high foot traffic, this store is seen as confirming the potential for expanding overseas outlets.

Lotte GRS is focusing on strengthening double patty burgers by actively reflecting the local food culture, which features high meat consumption and large meal portions. The Lotteria stores in Mongolia have been growing rapidly, with cumulative sales last month exceeding 70% compared to the previous year.

A Lotte GRS official stated, “We plan to accelerate the search for new countries for entry, which had slowed due to COVID-19, and the opening of new stores in existing countries. We will continue to strengthen services, brand, and product competitiveness tailored to customer consumption patterns that value change and experience, solidifying the position of K-franchise.”
