Jin Ok-dong Participating in Chairman Interview: "Sustainable Management Needed for Shinhans 100 Years"

[Asia Economy Reporters Yu Je-hoon, Song Seung-seop] On the 8th, Jin Ok-dong, CEO of Shinhan Bank, stated before the interview for the CEO Chairman position at Shinhan Financial Group, "I want to focus on what Shinhan Financial Group must do to become a 100-year company in the future, as well as on 'sustainable management'."

On the morning of the same day, before the final interview of the nomination committee held at Shinhan Financial Group headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, Jin met with reporters and said, "I would like to thank the board of directors and everyone once again for giving me this opportunity. I will work hard and do well," expressing his intentions.

Regarding the strengths he plans to emphasize in the CEO Chairman interview, Jin said, "I plan to talk to the directors about the customer-centric approach that I have continuously pursued for four years as the bank president." He also mentioned his vision for sustainable management, stating, "I believe that not only financial aspects but also non-financial aspects should be given the same weight and attention."

Meanwhile, Shinhan Financial Group held a nomination committee meeting on the morning of the same day to conduct final interviews with the shortlisted candidates for the next CEO Chairman position: Cho Yong-byeong, Chairman of Shinhan Financial Group; Jin Ok-dong; and Lim Young-jin, President of Shinhan Card. The candidate selected as the final nominee will be inaugurated as the next CEO Chairman after the regular shareholders' meeting in March next year.
