Up to 43 Million KRW for Youth Employment Companies Over 2 Years, Up to 15 Million KRW Support for Rent and More for Youth Startups

Busan City Launches '2023 Regional-Led Youth Job Project' ... Recruitment of Participants Starts from December 9 Busan City Hall.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] On the 7th, Busan City received an award for excellence in the metropolitan city category from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in recognition of its contribution to the achievement of the 'Region-led Youth Job Project' at the region-led youth job project workshop and awards ceremony.

This year, the city newly established and operated the Busan Youth Job Platform, ‘Youth★BusanJobs,’ which integrated the ‘104 region-led youth job projects in 2022’ that were promoted by each institution into a single announcement, providing real-time recruitment and application status. It also transparently disclosed employment status, which was previously managed at the discretion of each department, and intensively managed mid-term dropouts through professional counselors.

As a result of these efforts, Busan City was honored as an ‘Excellent Local Government’ in the metropolitan city category for the 2022 region-led youth job project.

Based on these achievements, Busan City plans to continuously discover and provide youth jobs tailored to regional characteristics and to further solidify the ‘2023 Region-led Youth Job Project,’ officially launching the project with participant recruitment starting on December 9.

In next year’s project, for youth who get employed, the employing companies will receive up to 43 million KRW in labor cost support over two years, and for startups, indirect costs such as rent will be supported up to 15 million KRW.

Companies seeking employees (up to 574 places) and youth seeking jobs or startups (expected 570 applicants) can apply from the 9th through the ‘Youth★BusanJobs’ website, Busan Job Information Network > Youth Busan Jobs > Region-led Youth Job Project.

Since there are differences in project operators, target beneficiaries, and support contents for each individual project, detailed information should be checked in each project’s announcement.

Mayor Park Hyung-jun said, “I hope that through the region-led youth job project, young people can find jobs without difficulty, and companies seeking employees can easily obtain talent,” adding, “With this award as an opportunity, we will do our best to make Busan a city where young people gather and settle by creating quality youth jobs.”
