[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi-do is producing and distributing a web casebook on corruption titled 'Gyeonggi-do Public Interest Reporting Hotline' ahead of the 'International Anti-Corruption Day' (December 9).
Public interest reporting refers to reports of public interest infringement acts violating 471 laws as defined in the 'Public Interest Whistleblower Protection Act,' as well as reports of corruption and code of conduct violations by Gyeonggi-do public officials.
Gyeonggi-do announced on the 8th that following the public interest infringement casebooks in June (environment sector) and August (safety sector), it has produced the third casebook focusing on corruption.
This casebook includes specific reportable examples related to corruption under the 'Act on the Prevention of Corruption and the Establishment and Management of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission,' such as public officials pursuing private interests, embezzlement of public institution budgets, violations of the public officials' code of conduct, including ▲unjust orders exercising official authority ▲private use of business promotion expenses and official vehicles ▲embezzlement of public institution budgets ▲false claims and improper receipt of personnel expenses ▲false claims for subsidies.
The province will distribute the casebook to 31 cities and counties and affiliated organizations, and post it on the 'Gyeonggi-do Public Interest Reporting Hotline website' and 'Gyeonggi-do e-book.'
During December, the province will also hold a quiz event through the official Gyeonggi-do Facebook page.
