German authorities have arrested 25 individuals linked to a far-right "terrorist group" suspected of planning an attack on the parliament.

According to AFP and other foreign media on the 7th (local time), those arrested by German authorities are accused of devising concrete plans since November last year to carry out an armed attack on the German parliament with the aim of overthrowing the German national order.

They are known to be connected to the far-right anti-government group "Reichsbuerger" (Imperial Citizens). This group worships neo-Nazis and has become more radical in recent years.

The police deployed about 3,000 personnel in a large-scale arrest operation in a single day this morning. The 25 individuals were arrested in various parts of Germany including Berlin, as well as in Austria and Italy.

Among those arrested, it is reported that there are active-duty soldiers belonging to special forces.

Marco Buschmann, Germany's Minister of Justice, praised the arrest operation on Twitter and evaluated that German authorities have protected democracy.
