[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Hyeong-seok] The ‘Entrepreneurship Capacity Building Camp & Startup Idea Competition’ hosted by Gwangju Women's University Career and Startup Support Center, University Job Support Center, and University Innovation Support Project Group was successfully held on the 1st at ‘3UP STATION,’ a specialized career and startup space within Gwangju Women's University.
This program was conducted for entrepreneurship-specialized club teams and students interested in startups. To ensure efficient program operation, in addition to the three departments, DreamNaru Co., Ltd., a professional education corporation specializing in employment and entrepreneurship capacity building, also participated. A total of 17 students from 6 teams took part, creating a passionate atmosphere.
Starting with ‘How to Write a Business Plan’ and followed by expert ‘Team Consulting on Business Plans,’ participants refined their fresh, university-student-level ideas. In the afternoon’s ‘Startup Idea Competition,’ they presented and discussed their unique startup items, which was highly regarded as greatly helpful in strengthening practical entrepreneurship capabilities.
A student from the Department of Food and Nutrition who participated in the program with a local item called ‘Gwangju Bread’ said, “Every process was essential education for startup preparation, which gave me confidence in entrepreneurship that I had vaguely feared. I also learned how to prepare for actual startup activities while still enrolled, which was really good.” She added, “I was very nervous presenting my startup item in front of three entrepreneurship experts, but it was the most helpful experience.”
Kim Yoon-jung, Director of the University Job Support Center, said, “While considering what to do to strengthen students’ entrepreneurship capabilities, the three departments collaborated to plan a program with a focus on consulting and practical training that would actually help students rather than just theory.” She added, “Students probably had vague fears about startups, but I felt proud to receive thankful messages saying they gained overall confidence from writing business plans to presentations.”
Meanwhile, the event held on campus paid special attention to safety management by stationing three managers at the venue, securing emergency routes to nearby hospitals and police stations, and strictly adhering to quarantine guidelines such as wearing masks, disinfecting the venue every hour, and checking temperatures to ensure a safe event.
