[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, has succeeded in winning two awards in the excellent installation category of the ‘Autonomous Building Number Plate Contest’ hosted by Jeollanam-do.
According to the county on the 7th, a building number plate refers to a signboard displaying the building’s road name address, and ‘autonomous’ means a building number plate installed directly by the building owner considering the building’s design and surrounding landscape.
This contest was promoted to discover excellent cases of autonomous building number plates installed on buildings within Jeollanam-do.
After the first round of self-assessment by cities and counties selecting 26 cases, the ranking was decided through a second round of expert evaluation.
The county achieved a great success with Cafe Geurim winning the Excellence Award and Jangseong-gun Dementia Safety Center receiving the Encouragement Award.
Cafe Geurim received high scores for harmoniously installing the signboard by utilizing the existing cafe guide sign.
Jangseong-gun Dementia Safety Center attracted attention for making the building’s purpose easily recognizable by using the center’s logo, and it is expected to be applicable to dementia safety centers in other regions as well.
A county official said, “The installation of autonomous building number plates enhances the individuality of buildings and also improves the urban landscape,” adding, “We hope this award will lead to the activation of autonomous building number plate installations in the Jangseong area.”
