Side by Side Challenge for Best Foreign Language Drama... Korean Works Nominated Two Years in a Row
[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The dramas "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" (hereafter Woo Young-woo) and "Pachinko" have both been nominated for Best Foreign Language Drama at the Critics Choice Awards in the United States.
The Critics Choice Association (CCA) announced on the 6th (local time) that Woo Young-woo and Pachinko were selected as nominees for the Best Foreign Language Series category in the TV division of the 28th annual awards ceremony.
The Critics Choice Awards are given by American broadcast and film critics who evaluate the artistic quality and acting performances of the works, divided into TV (drama) and film categories.
Woo Young-woo and Pachinko, which aired on Netflix and Apple TV+ respectively and garnered significant attention, have been nominated, raising expectations for Korean dramas to win the Critics Choice TV category for the second consecutive year. Last year, "Squid Game" and actor Lee Jung-jae were nominated for Best Foreign Language Series and Best Actor respectively, and took the stage at the awards ceremony in March.
The two works nominated this year will compete for the Best Foreign Language Drama award against "Prime Minister Birgit" (Netflix), "1899" (Netflix), "Garc?a!" (HBO Max), "The Kingdom Exodus" (Movie), "Cl?o" (Netflix), "My Brilliant Friend" (HBO), and "Tehran" (Apple TV+).
The winners will be announced at the 28th Critics Choice Awards ceremony held on January 15 next year at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles (LA).
