Ajou University, Sookmyung Women's University, Gyeonggi Technopark, Gyeonggi Daejin Technopark, and Korea Industrial Complex Corporation Sign Business Agreement
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Chairman Kim Jong-ho, hereinafter referred to as Kibo) announced on the 7th that it signed a 'Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Sharing and Collaboration Agreement' with Ajou University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, Sookmyung Women’s University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, Gyeonggi Technopark, Gyeonggi Daejin Technopark, and Korea Industrial Complex Corporation at the Suwon Convention Center located in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do.
This agreement was prepared to establish a mutual cooperation system among the signatory institutions for the development of regional industries, to promote technology commercialization centered on universities, and to create a leading model of industry-academia cooperation.
According to the agreement, Kibo and each institution will actively cooperate to establish a mutual cooperation system including ▲ mutual information exchange to activate technology transfer and technology startup commercialization originating from universities ▲ industry-academia cooperation education for talent cultivation centered on companies ▲ planning and promotion of joint industry-academia research based on company collaboration centers ▲ joint marketing to discover candidate companies for industry-academia cooperation ▲ formation of expert groups for commercialization support and provision of commercialization consulting ▲ mutual utilization of infrastructure such as equipment, personnel, and information owned by the signatory institutions ▲ exchange of participating personnel through the formation and operation of consultative bodies.
Through this agreement, Kibo plans to promote technology commercialization and technology transfer of core technologies within universities by activating technology exchange and information sharing, and to drive technological innovation and growth of regional small and medium-sized venture companies. Kim Dae-cheol, Head of Kibo’s Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters, said, "With this agreement, Kibo plans to actively cooperate in technology transfer and technology business activation so that the strengths of each institution can create synergy," adding, "We will continue to expand collaboration between universities and small and medium-sized enterprises and do our best to strengthen the competitiveness of regional small businesses."
