[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Bucheon City, Gyeonggi Province, will recruit 6,020 participants for the 2023 Senior Job Project from the 12th to the 28th of this month.

They will recruit 5,534 for the public type aged 65 and over, and 486 for the private type aged 60 and over. This is an increase of 342 people compared to the 5,678 recruited this year, making it the second largest project scale in Gyeonggi Province.

The city will promote a total of 117 projects including Senior Convenience Stores, Senior Cafes, Public Administrative Support, School Flowerbed and Vegetable Garden Management, School Zone Traffic Support, and Advance Medical Directive Counseling Support.

In addition, the city has newly selected one senior job implementing agency (Social Cooperative Gyeonggi Bucheon Nanum Regional Self-Support Center) to promote high-quality senior job projects. As a result, a total of 12 implementing agencies, including Bucheon Senior Club, will carry out the senior job projects.

These agencies will recruit applicants for senior job participation and select participants according to the Ministry of Health and Welfare's project type selection criteria table.

To apply, applicants must either visit the senior job implementing agency in person to submit an application form or apply online through 'Senior Job Here' or 'Bokjiro' and then visit the respective implementing agency for an interview.

Jo Yong-ik, Mayor of Bucheon City, said, "We will do our best to support suitable job activities for seniors with working ability so that they can enjoy a vibrant and stable old age."
