[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jung-wan] Hwang In-beom (Olympiacos), a midfielder of the South Korean national football team 'Bentoho' that finished the Qatar World Cup, left a harsh message targeting malicious commenters who poured out some harsh criticism. During this World Cup, some players, including 'Captain' Son Heung-min, became targets of continuous 'malicious comment attacks' by netizens.

On the 6th (Korean time), after the round of 16 match against Brazil ended, Hwang In-beom said through his Instagram, "There are still people who shamelessly use the keyboard despite the efforts and achievements of the players and coaching staff, but I know that there are more people who sincerely support and breathe with us, so I will recharge well and try harder again."

He first shared his thoughts on finishing the World Cup. Hwang In-beom wrote, "Since the moment I first wore the A-team jersey in September 2018 until now, I have worked hard to stand on this stage, and I am grateful to be able to finish the tournament feeling great pride in having received some reward."

He added, "Although there are regrets, I am proud that I gave my all without leaving any regrets," and said, "In the three group stage matches, especially the last game, we made all the people of South Korea happy, and I think it was one of the most rewarding and meaningful emotions I have ever felt in my life."

He continued, "The feeling of apology from the disappointing moments in today's match will not be expressed in words but will be replaced by efforts to become stronger and more solid as South Korean football and as an individual player in the future," and he said, "I am infinitely grateful to be able to finish this long four-year journey with the best football players in Korea, and I sincerely thank everyone for the support and love we have received." He added, "We are strong when we are together, so please give us more support and encouragement."

Meanwhile, after the match, Hwang In-beom expressed his gratitude to head coach Paulo Bento, who led the team, in an interview with the press. Hwang In-beom said, "He is someone I am truly thankful for. I don't know how many people will accept this, but I am really grateful," and added, "(Thanks to him) I am who I am today."
