Gwangju Bank Conducts Volunteer Activity for Sharing Love Kimchi Making

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju Bank announced on the 6th that on the 5th, at Gwangju Kimchi Town in Imam-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, Gwangju Bank President Song Jong-wook, Kim Hyun-mi, Head of the Gwangju Regional Headquarters of the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, and about 30 participants including new employees of Gwangju Bank took part in a kimchi-making volunteer activity.


Gwangju Bank donated 31.5 million KRW for this ‘Love Kimchi Sharing Volunteer Activity,’ and the 2,000 heads of kimchi made through the volunteer work will be delivered to about 20 local childcare facilities and welfare centers, including Mudeung Childcare Center, to help underprivileged groups in the region have a warm winter.


The new employees of Gwangju Bank, who were finally selected in the second half of 2022 new employee recruitment and are undergoing training until the 30th, personally made kimchi to share with the underprivileged in the region, embodying Gwangju Bank’s corporate culture of returning more than 10% of net profit to the local community through various social contribution activities.


President Song of Gwangju Bank said, “I hope the kimchi made with sincerity by executives and employees will become warm nourishment for the underprivileged in the region this winter,” and added, “We will continue to pursue values beyond profit, such as mutual growth with the region and companionship with local residents, and carry out sincere social contribution activities for the underprivileged neighbors in our community.”
